Karen Yurek

Karen Yurek has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Karen started their career at OLM LLC as a Technical Sales Representative and Technical Support for NameRegistrars, where they handled customer inquiries and performed domain name transfers. Karen then joined Brigham and Women's Hospital as a Technical Research Assistant II.

Karen later moved to Abcam, where they held various positions including Technical Support Representative, Technical Support Specialist, and eventually became the Scientific Support Manager. In this role, they managed the US Scientific Support Department, ensuring customer satisfaction and leading health and safety efforts.

Currently, Karen works at Safety Partners, Inc. as a Principal Consulting Safety Officer. Karen has demonstrated expertise in developing and maintaining safety programs, with a focus on emergency preparedness, biological safety, chemical safety, animal care facility safety, and radiation safety. In addition, they have been involved in project management, mentoring newer staff, and updating internal knowledgebase and client content.

Throughout their career, Karen has consistently shown dedication, efficiency, and a strong commitment to ensuring maximum value for their clients.

Karen Yurek's education history begins with their high school diploma from Shelton High School, which they obtained from 1991 to 1995. Following that, they attended Boston University from 1995 to 1997, where they studied psychology and minored in biology and chemistry. Karen did not obtain a degree from Boston University.

Karen then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Biophysics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 1997 to 2001. Their undergraduate education was followed by a Master of Liberal Arts (ALM) in Management at Harvard University, where they studied from 2007 to 2012.

In addition to their formal education, Karen Yurek has obtained certifications in the field of occupational ergonomics from Colorado State University in June 2021 and in adult and pediatric first aid/CPR/AED from the American Red Cross in July 2020.
