Vinnie Papa has extensive experience in both public service and the arts. Since January 2011, Vinnie has been an actor with the Screen Actors Guild Foundation. Concurrently, Vinnie has served as a Police Sergeant in the Emergency Service Unit of the Nassau County Police Department since December 1999, following a previous role as a Police Officer with the NYPD from April 1997 to December 1999. Additionally, Vinnie volunteered as a Firefighter with the New Hyde Park Fire Department from January 1992 to March 2006, where responsibilities included firefighting duties assigned to a truck company.

The SAG-AFTRA Foundation provides vital assistance and educational programming to the professionals of SAG-AFTRA while serving the public at large through its signature children’s literacy program. Founded in 1985, the Foundation is a national non-profit organization, independent from SAG-AFTRA, and relies solely on support from grants, corporate sponsorships, and individual contributions to maintain its programs and create new ones.
