Matthew Gurney

Matthew Gurney is an experienced leader in risk transformation and change management with a progressive career spanning over two decades. Currently serving as the Head of Risk Transformation at Saga plc. since September 2022, Matthew oversees a dynamic team in the development and delivery of business transformation initiatives, leveraging expertise in various change methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall. Previous roles include Principal Projects Manager at AICL & CHMC, where Matthew established change management frameworks, and positions at Saga Group, including Group Risk Manager, where a new risk management framework was operationalized across multiple divisions. Matthew's career began in vineyard management and vocational training for adults with learning disabilities, establishing operational management skills early on. Educationally, Matthew holds a Master's degree in English & Philosophy from The Manchester Metropolitan University.
