Andrew Collins

Andrew Collins has a long and varied career in the travel and media industry. Andrew began their career in 1991 as an Associate Editor at Fodor's Travel Publications, where they were promoted to Assistant Editor after six months and Associate Editor one year later. In 1993, they left their staff position to pursue a freelance career, and has since written and edited various Fodor's titles, including Arizona, New Mexico, Pacific Northwest, Peru, Germany, Brazil, Barcelona, Australia, Colorado, and California. In 1996, they became a Travel Columnist for Q Syndicate, and in 2003 they became a Copy Editor for New Mexico Magazine, where they created and maintained the in-house style book and contributed articles on a freelance basis. In 2007, they became an Editor, Writer, and Photographer for About.com, producing the GLBT travel website GayTravel.About.com. From 2011-2014, they were the Editor in Chief of OutCity, OutAloha, Love Wins Texas, and Love Wins California magazines for SagaCity Media. In 2020, they returned to SagaCity Media as an Editor and Project Manager, overseeing editorial budgets and working closely with clients to develop content for the annual Washington State Wine Commission Tour Guide, the annual State of Washington Visitors' Guide, the annual Asheville NC Official Visitors Guide, and the twice-annual Visit Seattle Official Visitors Guide.

Andrew Collins completed their high school education at Wilton High School from 1984 to 1987. Andrew then attended St. Lawrence University from 1987 to 1989, studying English and Philosophy. Afterward, they earned a B.A. in English from Wesleyan University in 1991.
