James Candlin

James Candlin has been in the industry since 1989, when they started as a Senior Engineer at Applied Biosystems. In 1997, they moved to Paracel, Inc. as the Director of Bioinformatics, where they were in charge of product strategy for high-throughput bioinformatics. In 2001, they took on the role of VP Bioinformatics at Discovery Biosciences, Inc., and also began working as an Independent Consultant. Since 2004, they have been at Sage-N Research, Inc. as the VP Proteomics Solutions, where they have worn several hats including R&D, applications development, operations, marketing, and some sales work. Theirfocus has been on product definition and project management, as well as developing 3rd party applications.

James Candlin completed an M.Sc. in Physics from the University of Bristol in 1979. James then went on to obtain an M.S. in Computer Engineering from Santa Clara University. Prior to that, they had obtained a B.Sc. in Joint honours in Maths and Physics from the University of Bristol.
