Sophie Tamayo

Sophie Tamayo is an experienced care manager currently working at SAGE since August 2022, where case management for older LGBTQ-identifying adults is a primary focus. Prior to this role, Sophie served as a paralegal fellow in the LGBTQ Law Project at the New York Legal Assistance Group from September 2021 to August 2022, and had a year-long tenure as a corps member with Avodah during the same period. Additional professional experiences include serving as the Communications and Publicity Chair Assistant at the NAACP, interning in social justice at Hillel International, and working as a legal officer and social justice intern at the Santa Cruz Free Clinic. Sophie's early career featured research work with Diarna: Digital Jewish Archive, producing site write-ups on Jewish populations in Mexico and Italy. Sophie Tamayo holds an undergraduate degree in Non-Professional General Legal Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz, earned in 2021.
