Robert Saeid Farivar

Robert Saeid Farivar has extensive work experience in the medical field, particularly in the area of cardiac surgery. Robert Saeid is currently serving as the Chief of CT Surgery at ST ALPHONSUS REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER INC, a position they assumed in February 2021. Prior to that, they held the role of Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at HCA East Florida Division from April 2018 to February 2021.

Before joining HCA, Farivar worked as Chairman of the Minneapolis Heart Institute, Allina Cardiothoracic Surgery at Allina Health from May 2014 to April 2018.

Robert Saeid also served as Chief of Cardiac Surgery at Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System from September 2012 to April 2014 and as a Cardiac Surgeon at the University of Iowa Health Care from July 2008 to September 2012.

Farivar began their career in the medical field as a Resident Doctor at Brigham and Women's Hospital from July 2000 to June 2008. Prior to that, they worked as a Biomedical Engineer at Spire Corporation from July 1990 to June 1991.

Robert Saeid Farivar has an extensive education history. Robert Saeid completed their high school education at The Roxbury Latin School in 1986, earning a High School Diploma. Robert Saeid then attended Yale University from 1986 to 1990, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology. After completing their undergraduate studies, Farivar joined Boston University School of Medicine from 1991 to 1998, where they earned an MD PhD degree in Pathology.

Farivar continued their medical training at Yale University School of Medicine from 1998 to 2000, completing a Categorical Surgical PGY 1 & 2 program. Subsequently, they enrolled in the Cardiothoracic Surgery program at Brigham and Women's Hospital from 2000 to 2003, specializing in Cardiac Surgery. Robert Saeid further expanded their surgical expertise at Harvard Medical School, starting with the General Surgery Residency Program from 2003 to 2006, and following it with the Thoracic Surgery Residency Program from 2006 to 2008.

In addition to their educational accomplishments, Farivar also obtained certification from the American Board of Thoracic Surgery in October 2009, as awarded by the institution known as ABTS.
