Terri Murray

Terri Murray is the current Chief Integrity & Compliance Officer at Saint Joseph Mercy Health System. Terri has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, with a focus on compliance and risk management.

Murray began their career as a registered nurse. Terri then transitioned into hospital administration, where they held various positions such as Director of Nursing and Chief Operating Officer. In these roles, they gained valuable experience in managing compliance risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.

In May 2017, Murray took on the role of Vice President Integrity & Compliance, Privacy Official and Interim Risk Manager at Trinity Health Senior Communities. In this position, they were responsible for all aspects of the compliance and risk management program across Trinity's 50+ senior living facilities in 11 states. This included developing and implementing policies to strengthen the culture of regulatory compliance, managing the Trinity Integrity Line, and leading a team of 7 clinical colleagues responsible for clinical assessments, standards, and practice.

Under Murray's leadership, the Trinity Health Senior Communities saw significant improvement in completion rates for colleague mandatory training, as well as increased awareness of compliance issues through community outreach and education initiatives.

In February 2020, Murray was appointed as the Chief Integrity & Compliance Officer at Saint Joseph Mercy Health System. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing all aspects of the health system's compliance program, including developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Murray is also a member of the health system's executive leadership

Terri Murray has a Master of Laws from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in the field of Health Law. Terri also has a Doctor of Law from University of Detroit in the field of Law. For their undergraduate degree, Terri Murray went to Wayne State University and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, General. Furthermore, Terri Murray is certified by the American Hospital Association as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) and is also certified by the Health Care Compliance Association in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) and Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC).
