Christine Jacobs

Dean of the School of Medicine & VP, Medical Affairs at Saint Louis University

Dr. Christine Jacobs is the current Dean of the School of Medicine & VP of Medical Affairs at Saint Louis University. Prior to their current role, they served as the Acting Dean of the school from February 2021 to August 2021. Christine has also held the position of Chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Saint Louis University from January 2019 to February 2021, as well as Interim Chair from February 2017 to December 2018.

Dr. Jacobs has also worked for SSM Health Care - St. Louis and Saint Louis University in the past. Christine is most notable for their work as the founding director of the Family Medicine Residency program at Saint Louis University, a position they held from June 2011 to January 2019.

The Family Medicine Residency program was created with the mission of training family physicians to increase access to primary care in the St Louis area. The residency is a collaboration between the Saint Louis University School of Medicine, SSM St. Mary's Health Center, and Family Care Health Centers. The program has been showcased as an innovative provider of primary care physicians for St Louis in the St Louis Medical News in August 2013.

Christine Jacobs attended Vanderbilt University for their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), and they specialized in the field of medicine. After Vanderbilt, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) at the University of California, Davis in physiology. Christine then went on to complete a Family Medicine Residency Program at Brown University. Christine is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine in both Board Certified in Geriatrics and Board Certified in Family Medicine.

They are on a team with Jeff Fowler - VP, Marketing & Communications, David Heimburger - VP & CFO, and Jessica M. Evenson - VP, University Compliance & Ethics. Christine Jacobs reports to Fred P. Pestello, President.
