Steven S. Pope is the current Director at the Saint Louis Zoo. Prior to their current position, they were the Director of Loyalty and Digital Communications at Panera Bread from April 2010 to July 2021. In this role, Pope led the strategy for MyPanera, Panera’s customer loyalty program, and Digital Communications which included the evolution of the program and any testing. Steven also managed vendor relationships, scopes and budgets, and strategized ways to bring Loyalty to the center of external campaigns and promotional cycles which included acquisition tactics, MyPanera exclusive benefits, offers and partnerships. Pope set the Digital Communications strategy and supported the team in execution with a current focus on Email and Mobile personalization, dynamic content and channel expansion.
Prior to working at Panera Bread, Pope was a Design Temp at The Creative Group from September 2009 to April 2010. Steven started with Panera Bread as a Print Production Temp in September 2009 and was hired full time by Panera in April 2010.
Pope has also been a Masters Student and Teaching Assistant at the University of Missouri-Columbia from August 2008 to August 2009. Additionally, they interned as an Emerging Media Coordinator at Critical Mass from May 2008 to August 2008.
Steven S. Pope studied journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia, first completing a Bachelor of Journalism (BJ) degree with an emphasis in magazine design, and then later completing a Master of Arts (MA) in journalism.
