Darius Vala has extensive experience in the aviation and safety sectors, currently serving as Compliance Monitoring Manager, Air Traffic Controller, and Safety Officer at SAKAERONAVIGATSIA since December 2009. Previously, Darius held a position as Secondee in the Safety Unit at EUROCONTROL from November 2017 to April 2021, and worked as a Radio Operator for the International Committee of the Red Cross from September 2008 to December 2009. Darius holds a Master's degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from The University of Georgia (Tbilisi), obtained in July 2023, a Bachelor's degree in Air Traffic Control from Riga Aeronautical Institute (2014), and a Bachelor's degree in Humanities from Tbilisi State University (2008). Additionally, Darius completed the Air Traffic Controller's Basic course at École nationale de l'aviation civile in Toulouse, France in 2010.

Who we are? Management of air traffic within the Georgian airspace is conducted by Ltd. "SAKAERONAVIGATSIA", whose main objective is to monitor and provide aviation services and flight safety in takeoff and landing zones of international airports of Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Batumi and Mestia. What we do? • Management of air traffic movement; • Provision of radio-wave, lightning and other communication systems; • Meteorological service; • Aeronautical information services. Our mission: SAKAERONAVIGATSIA sets itself a mission to provide safe flying conditions in Georgian airspace in terms of constant and dynamic development of global air traffic. Our goal is to set safety management systems in accordance with the international standards of aviation and to reduce risk factors of air traffic accidents through the process of organizing air traffic movement.
