Shiferaw Gizaw

Shiferaw Gizaw currently serves as the Data Applications Manager for Vegetable Research and Development at Sakata Seed America, Inc., a position held since April 2016, following experience as a Research Data Scientist in vegetable breeding. Prior roles include Research Associate at Washington State University, where expertise was developed in drought resistance and yield potential in wheat, as well as Graduate Research Assistant, focusing on the genetic and physiological traits of winter wheat germplasm. Earlier professional experiences include internships and research positions at organizations such as Phytelligence, CIMMYT, and the Agricultural Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Science. Shiferaw Gizaw holds a Ph.D. in Crop Science from Washington State University, as well as an MSc in Applied Genetics and a BSc in Biology from Addis Ababa University.
