Mark Zook joined the Salem Health Board of Trustees in the Spring of 2020. Zook is a lifelong resident of the Willamette Valley. He earned his undergraduate degree from Western Oregon University, and then attended Southern Oregon University where he completed a Master of Business Administration. Committed to lifelong learning, Zook later attended the University of Oregon and obtained a Master of Science in Educational Leadership.
In 1992, Zook began working with a local financial cooperative, Maps Credit Union. For the better part of three decades, he has served residents of the mid-Willamette Valley in its Marion, Polk and Benton County locations — the past 12 years as president and CEO. He currently serves on the Boards of several companies serving financial services in the areas of data analytics, managed technology services and insurance services.
Locally, Zook has long been involved with the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce, Western Oregon University, and the Salem Keizer Education Foundation. His career with MAPS as well as his local community service have prepared Zook well to represent the community on the Salem Health Board.
