Stephen Zrike is an experienced educational leader currently serving as the Superintendent of Salem Public Schools since July 2020. Previous roles include Superintendent/Receiver of Schools for Holyoke Public Schools from July 2015 to June 2020, and Superintendent of Wakefield Public School System from July 2013 to June 2015. Stephen also held the position of Chief of Elementary Schools at Chicago Public Schools from January 2011 to June 2013 and served in various capacities including Turnaround Principal and Leadership Coach within Boston Public Schools from July 2004 to December 2010. Stephen began the career as a Superintendent Intern at Spokane Public Schools and contributed as a Teacher Leader in Andover Public Schools from September 1998 to June 2002. Academically, Stephen Zrike earned a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Urban Education and Leadership and a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in the same field from Harvard Graduate School of Education, following a Bachelor's degree in History from Dartmouth College.
