Derek Hanson

Derek Hanson currently serves as the Vice President of Software Engineering at Salesforce, a position held since November 2025. Prior to this role, Derek was the Chief Architect at Regrello from February 2021 to November 2025. A significant portion of Derek's career was spent at Demandbase, where a progression through various roles from Data Scientist to Vice President of Data Engineering occurred between September 2015 and January 2021. Early experience includes data engineering roles at WhoToo and Switch Inc., as well as software development at BigTip Inc. and a programming assistant position at the Social Development Research Group. Derek holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Seattle Pacific University, obtained in 2011.
