Semih Yavuz

Semih Yavuz is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in AI research, currently serving as Director of AI Research at Salesforce from February 2022 to July 2024. Previously, Semih held roles including Senior Research Manager and Lead Research Scientist at Salesforce, and worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at UC Santa Barbara from July 2014 to August 2019. During an academic career, Semih contributed to several projects at Google from June 2017 to June 2019, including end-to-end conversational AI models and knowledge-grounded neural dialogue response generation as a Student Researcher and Research Intern. Semih holds PhDs in Computer Science from UC Santa Barbara and in Computer Science and Engineering from UC San Diego, showcasing a strong foundation in the field.
