Emily Brittain has a lengthy work experience, beginning in 2004 when they served as a Peace Corps volunteer. In 2006, they became a Senior Technical Support Consultant at Centrex Technologies, Inc. In 2007, they took on roles at the University of Chicago and the UIC Center for Literacy, as a Tutor and a Graduate Social Work Intern, respectively. In 2008, they were a Graduate Policy Intern at the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless. In 2010, they were a Facilitator for the Additional Learning Opportunities Program at Metropolitan Family Services, a Volunteer Coordinator for Citizens for Pat Dowell, and a Database Consultant for Alderman Pat Dowell's Third Ward Office. Finally, from 2011 to 2015, they worked at Benevolent as a Special Projects Consultant, an Operations and Project Manager, and a Community Engagement Manager and Team Lead. Emily then moved to SalesPage Technologies, where they worked as an Associate Project Manager, a Project Manager, and a Senior Project Manager.
Emily Brittain obtained their M.A. in School of Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago in 2009. Emily obtained their B.A. in French and German from Augustana College in 2000. Additionally, they have a Java, C++, and Visual C++ Language Certification from the College of DuPage. In 2017, they obtained their Licensed Master's Social Worker - Macro from the State of Michigan and in 2015, they obtained their Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) from the Scrum Alliance.
