Jacob McCloughan

Jacob McCloughan has worked in the technology industry for the past three years. In 2020, they began working for SalesPage Technologies as a Technology Analyst, then moved to an Associate Technology Analyst role, where they tested, implemented, and participated in code reviews for an enterprise platform written in Java, managed products and release cycles in Jira, and improved operations by researching and leading initiatives for emerging technologies. Jacob also had a Technical Writing Intern role, where they prepared onboarding materials concerning an enterprise application, drew from multiple resources to create comprehensive materials on complex processes, and spent time reviewing code to understand the application their materials concerned. In 2018, they began working for KPMG as an Associate Software Developer, where they developed back-end features in large codebases for an enterprise software platform in Java, utilized Git, Gradle, Docker, Jenkins, and Artifactory in day-to-day tasks, and adhered to Agile methodology and swapped between projects when assistance was needed. Jacob also had a Software Development Intern role, where they developed back-end features for an enterprise software application in Java, expanded internal documentation in key areas of need, and refactored code and created unit tests to improve coverage. In 2017, they worked for SunFrog Shirts as a Manufacturing Laborer, where they organized orders and shipped them out to customers, and quickly learned company software and workflow.

Jacob McCloughan received their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) with Honors in Computer Science from Grand Valley State University in 2019. Jacob attended Kingston University in 2017 for a study abroad program. Jacob has also earned three certifications from LinkedIn: Programming Foundations: Design Patterns (April 2020), Software Architecture Foundations (April 2020), and Agile Foundations (March 2020).
