Johannes Feldmann

Founder & CTO at Salience Labs

Johannes Feldmann is a German physicist and the founder and CTO of Salience Labs. Johannes is an expert in photonic computing with phase-change materials.

Feldmann did their undergraduate studies at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, where they obtained their M.Sc. in physics in 2015. Their thesis was entitled “Sputter deposition and characterization of lithium titante thin-film electrodes”. After graduation, they stayed on at the university to pursue a PhD in physics under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Wolfram Pernice. Their doctoral thesis was entitled “Photonic non-von Neumann Processors”. In 2020, they were awarded the Infineon Doctorate Award from the Physics Department of the university.

In November 2020, Feldmann moved to the University of Oxford as a postdoctoral researcher working on photonic computing with phase-change materials. Johannes is currently the founder and CTO of Salience Labs, a startup company that is developing a new generation of photonic computers based on their research.

Johannes Feldmann received their Doctorate in Physics from the University of Münster. Their research interests include theoretical particle physics and cosmology.

Their manager is Vaysh Kewada, Founder & CEO. Johannes Feldmann works with Crescenzo D’Alessandro - Chief Architect, Joanna Dunne - CFO, and Faisal Awqati - VP, Engineering. Some direct reports include Nicolas Scotto Di Perto - ML Engineer, Mark Stow - Senior SW Engineer, and Natanijel Vasic - ML Engineer.
