Tim Ball

Executive Director, Facilities & Operations at SALK INSTITUTE FOR BIOLOGICAL STUDIES

Tim Ball is currently the Executive Director of Facilities & Operations at SALK INSTITUTE FOR BIOLOGICAL STUDIES. Tim has over 25 years of experience in various management positions in the engineering and construction industry.

Mr. Ball started their career as an Applications Engineer with Climate Engineering, Inc. in May 1981. In March 1984, they became a Project Engineer with Barber Colman Company. Tim then moved to Staefa Control Systems in September 1989 as a Manager, Integrated Systems Sales. Tim was promoted to Sr. Sales Engineer in May 1990 and Regional Sales Manager in December 1992. Mr. Ball left Staefa Control Systems in October 1994 to become the Associate Director of Facilities Management at CSU, Long Beach where they worked until September 2008.

In their current role at SALK INSTITUTE FOR BIOLOGICAL STUDIES, Mr. Ball is responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the Institute’s buildings and grounds. Tim also manages the Institute’s capital improvement projects and is responsible for the safety of all Institute employees.

Tim Ball reports to Rusty Gage, President. Some of their coworkers include Mallory Zaslav - VP, Equity & Inclusion, Carol Bodas - Manager, Library Services, and Kim Witmer - SVP, Finance & Administration. and Kimberly Emberton - Administrative Coordinator reports to Tim Ball.
