Senior Vice President, Chief Regulatory Counsel And Corporate Secretary at Sallie Mae

Rick Nelson has extensive work experience in the legal field. Rick began their career at Haller & Gates as a Senior Associate from May 1994 to January 2001. Rick then joined Advanta Bank Corp. as a Counsel from February 2001 to June 2009 and later worked as a Law Consultant for the same company from August 2009 to February 2010. In 2010, they joined Sallie Mae as a Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel until April 2014. From April 2014 onwards, they held the role of Senior Vice President, Chief Regulatory Counsel, and Corporate Secretary at Sallie Mae.

Rick Nelson received their BA in Philosophy from Duquesne University from 1986 to 1990. Rick later pursued a JD degree from the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University from 1991 to 1994. In 2020, they completed an Executive Education program in Finance and Accounting For The Non-Finance Manager at The Wharton School. In 1989 and 1990, they attended Collegio Universitario Villa Nazereth, but the details regarding their degree and field of study are not provided.
