Alfred Eskandar

Alfred Eskandar is a business leader and technology entrepreneur who has spent almost 20 years introducing new levels of innovation and customer value to the global capital markets community. Alfred is currently the President and COO at Salt Financial.

Eskandar was appointed CEO of Portware in 2012. Alfred recognized the need for decision support tools that would help advance a collaborative environment between portfolio managers and traders. Months later, they spearheaded the acquisition of the technology assets of Aritas group to create Portware Alpha Vision. Alpha Vision is the first and only algorithmic optimization solution that uses predictive analytics to optimize algorithm selection and ensure the trader is in the right algorithm at the right time – every time. By injecting artificial intelligence and commission optimization tools into the trading process for the first time, Portware created a new type of thinking EMS that can bring measurable efficiencies and workflow automation to all global trading desks, giving traders and portfolio managers the highest level of real-time color and TCA on their orders.

In 2013, Eskandar was named to the prestigious Institutional Investor Trading Tech 40, the global ranking of the most prominent innovators and managers in the capital markets, selected based on their accomplishments and contributions at both the company and industry levels. Eskandar was also included in the The Trade 100 in 2014, noting the most influential people in buy-side trading.
