David Salazar

David Salazar, MPA, serves as the Compensation Manager for Salt Lake City Corporation since December 2008, playing a key role in supporting the city's mission and enhancing public service for over 3,000 employees. Additionally, David holds the position of Chair and Commissioner of the Peace Officer Merit Commission for the Salt Lake County Sheriff & Unified Police Department, focusing on promoting fair treatment of applicants and establishing compensation and benefits structures. Previous experience includes HR leadership roles within the State of Utah's Department of Transportation, Department of Human Resource Management, and Department of Corrections, as well as HR Director at Salt Lake Regional Medical Center. David holds a Master's degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor's degree in Zoology and Portuguese from Brigham Young University.
