Poonam K.

Poonam K. is an accomplished media professional with extensive experience in production, hosting, and community relations. Currently serving as On-Air Talent, Producer, and Social Media Manager at Salt Lake City Corporation since January 2016, Poonam produces and hosts programs such as “Capital City News” and “Around Town.” Prior to this role, Poonam worked at the Salt Lake City Mayor's Office from March 2011 to January 2016 as Signature Event Fund Grant Manager and Community Relations Coordinator, where major achievements included streamlining the distribution of $170,000 for events and directing sponsorship opportunities for over 100 events. Earlier experience includes a position at KUED Channel 7, where Poonam served as Community Outreach Coordinator and On-Air Web Talent from April 2003 to March 2011. Poonam holds a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication/Media Studies from the University of Utah, achieved in 2007, and a GED from Viewmont High School.
