Sarah Young

Sarah Young currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Staff at Western Governors University and is a Salt Lake City Councilwoman with experience in educational leadership spanning over a decade. Previously, Young held various roles at the Utah State Board of Education, including Chief of Staff and Director of Strategic Initiatives, where responsibilities included managing complex educational programs and supporting educators. Young's career also includes positions as a STEM Liaison at the Utah STEM Action Center, a Digital Teaching and Learning Coordinator at the Utah State Office of Education, and a Science Specialist at the Utah State Board of Education. Additionally, Young has contributed to science education as an Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow and has experience in curriculum development and teacher training across several educational institutions. Young holds an Administrative Licensure from Western Governors University, a Master’s in Education from Lesley University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Science from the University of Colorado Boulder.
