Fred Burmester

Deputy District Senior Attorney at Salt Lake County

Fred Burmester serves as the Deputy District Senior Attorney for Salt Lake County since November 1995, where various assignments include Juvenile, Misdemeanor, General Felony, and Gang and Homicide Prosecution as both trial attorney and first line supervisor. Additionally, Fred has been an Adjunct Professor in Paralegal Studies at Salt Lake Community College since January 2001. Prior military experience includes service as an Infantry Officer in the US Army from June 1981 to September 1991, holding roles such as Platoon Leader and Company XO. Fred Burmester earned a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from the University of Utah between 1991 and 1994 and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in History from the same university from 1977 to 1981, following graduation from Olympus High School in 1976.
