Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community
Angela D. Garcia-Lewis has extensive experience in cultural resource management, particularly within the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and Gila River Indian Community. Currently serving as the Cultural Preservation Compliance Supervisor with the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Cultural Preservation Program since October 2007, Angela oversees cultural resource consultations in the SRP-MIC Ancestral Claims Area and coordinates NAGPRA implementation, including documentation and repatriation efforts. Previously, Angela held various positions at the Gila River Indian Community Cultural Resource Management Program from 1998 to 2007, progressing from Laboratory Technician I to Assistant Cultural Resource Specialist, where responsibilities included artifact analysis, cataloging, and cultural resource consultation under state and federal laws. Angela's educational background includes studies at Central Arizona College and Northern Arizona University.
