Sabelo is a commercial and mining regulatory legal specialist. Prior to joining Wescoal, Sabelo practiced as an attorney at ENSafrica (operating as Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs Inc.) in its natural resources and environmental department (with additional expertise in corporate and commercial law) and has over 10 years’ experience. He has extensive experience in the negotiating, drafting and implementation of commercial contracts in transactions concerning any corporate restructuring, corporate governance, the application of South African regulatory company law and private equity transactions. He also specializes in various aspects of mining regulatory law, including mineral titles and due diligence investigations, as well as corporate restructuring, acquisitions and joint venture projects in the mining industry. While in practice, he has acted for a number of mining companies in the mineral commodities sector (including coal, base metals, precious metals, rare earths and sand), various listed and unlisted mining and exploration companies as well as traditional communities. Sabelo also advised mining companies on black economic empowerment transactions.
