Jacob Cane, CISSP

Jacob Cane, CISSP has extensive work experience in the cybersecurity and IT services industry. Jacob is currently the Managing Director and Head of Cybersecurity Services at Salus GRC, where they oversee a range of tech-enabled governance, risk, and compliance services for financial services firms. Prior to this role, Jacob worked as an Independent Advisor, providing consulting services in the cybersecurity field.

Before becoming an independent advisor, Jacob served as the Global Head of Customer Success & Strategy at Drawbridge Partners, a cybersecurity software and services firm catering to hedge fund and private equity managers. During their time at Drawbridge Partners, Jacob also held the position of Global Head of Strategy.

Jacob's career also includes roles at Abacus Group, where they were the Managing Director responsible for providing IT services tailored for alternative investment firms, and at Proactive Technologies, where they co-founded the company and served as CEO. Proactive Technologies offered IT services to hedge funds, private equity firms, and family offices before being acquired by Abacus Group.

At the beginning of their career, Jacob worked at Business Technology Partners, where they served as the Principal, First Employee, and MSP Practice Founder. Jacob played a key role in the growth of the MSP practice focused on small and mid-sized businesses and led the acquisition and integration of a financial-focused systems integrator.

Jacob Cane, CISSP, obtained their B.A. degree from Columbia University, where they studied from 1991 to 1996. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Nyack High School from 1987 to 1991. In addition to their formal education, Jacob obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)² in August 2020.
