Martin Weiss

Martin Weiss has a diverse work experience in the field of international relations. Martin is currently serving as the President & CEO of the Salzburg Global Seminar since August 2022. Prior to this, Martin held various diplomatic positions with the Austrian Foreign Ministry. From 2015 to 2022, they served as the Austrian Ambassador to the United States, where they were responsible for various bilateral relationships. Before that, they served as the Austrian Ambassador to Israel from 2015 to 2019. Martin also held the position of Ambassador from 2019 to 2022 in the Austrian Foreign Service. Earlier in their career, they served as the Austrian Ambassador to Cyprus from 2009 to 2012 and as the Austrian Consul General in California from 2005 to 2009. Martin started their career as a spokesperson for the Austrian Foreign Ministry from 2001 to 2005.

Martin Weiss obtained their first degree, Magister iuris, in Rechtswissenschaften from Universitäten Graz und Wien. Martin attended from 1981 to 1986. Later, they pursued further education and earned a Master of Laws - LLM in Recht from the University of Virginia, attending from 1988 to 1989.
