Doug Clauson is the Content Development Leader at Sam Brown. Prior to this, they were Vice President, Client Services at Markitects Inc. from September 2000 to December 2005. Doug supervised account services and project coordination for the full service marketing communications agency. Doug also directed creative teams in support of branding, advertising, direct marketing, PR and interactive project deliverables for consumer, technology, healthcare, and life science clients. Doug served as principal copywriter on all client accounts.

From September 1996 to August 2000, Doug was the Director of Corporate Communications at SunGard. In this role, they managed public relations programs for the $600 million business unit of SunGard (#434 on the Fortune 500) providing disaster recovery and business continuity services. Doug represented the company to the press and public by acting as chief corporate spokesperson.

During their time at SunGard, Doug developed and implemented a comprehensive PR strategy resulting in broad coverage of SunGard in major print and broadcast media outlets (CNN, MSNBC, Wall Street Journal, Philadelphia Inquirer). Doug also served as media spokesperson during natural disasters and other unplanned events impacting ongoing business operations of SunGard’s customers. In addition, Doug managed relationships with leading industry analyst firms (Gartner, Meta, Forrester, IDC) and wrote all news releases, backgrounders, fact sheets, feature articles, web content, analyst presentations, and executive speeches.

Doug Clauson has a Master of Science in Communications from Boston University and a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Ithaca College.

Doug Clauson reports to Laura Liotta, President. They are on a team with Hannah Hurdle - Team Leader, Joyce Ip - Team Leader, and Ashley Cadle - Team Leader.
