Matias Jaureguiberry-Bravo, Ph.D. has a strong background in scientific research and development. Matias began their career as a PhD student and full-time researcher at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where they focused on studying the effects of buprenorphine on HIV-infected and uninfected CD14CD16 monocyte migration across the blood-brain barrier. Matias continued their research as a postdoctoral research fellow in the same institution, working on how the aging-mediated decrease in chaperon-mediated autophagy contributes to chronic inflammation and Alzheimer's disease. During this time, they also participated in the NIH-K12 fellowship IRACDA program, which aimed to train postdoctoral researchers in teaching and mentoring.
In 2016, Matias joined Mount Sinai Health System as a visiting scientist, where they collaborated on a study examining the effects of buprenorphine on cognitive impairment and monocyte migration using the EcoHIV mouse model. Matias then took on the role of laboratory instructor at Lehman College in 2020.
Matias transitioned to Cellter in 2020, first as a senior scientific advisor and later as the head of science and product development. In this position, they managed a team of data scientists focused on developing clinical support device software. Matias also played a key role in developing and managing relationships with strategic stakeholders, writing grants and IRB protocols for federal funding, and writing research articles.
Most recently, Matias joined Samba Scientific as an associate account manager, where they are responsible for supporting and managing client accounts.
Matias Jaureguiberry-Bravo, Ph.D. has an extensive education history in the field of biomedicine and pathology. Matias obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biochemistry from Universidad Andres Bello, where they studied from 2006 to 2010. Subsequently, they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Biochemistry from the same institution, completing it from 2010 to 2012.
To further enhance their knowledge and expertise, Matias joined Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Matias started their academic journey by earning a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Biomedicine from 2012 to 2014. Matias then proceeded to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biomedicine, specializing in Pathology, and successfully completed it from 2012 to 2018.
