James McNeice

James McNeice has been working in the software development industry since 2009. In 2009, they worked as a CS Summer Camp Instructor for the Department of Computing Science at the University of Alberta. In 2010, they worked as a Web/Database Developer and Technical Support for the Faculty of Science at the University of Alberta. In 2013, they were the Interim Emulation Team Lead at Invidi Technologies, where they led a team of four developers and extended and maintained a number of emulation tools. In 2014, they worked as a Continuous Integration Consultant for GE Intelligent Platforms, where they developed a plugin for TeamCity and created a system using NodeJS. In 2015, they were the Primary Developer for McNeice Software, where they created virtual reality experiences for the Occulus Rift and developed a game automation tool. In 2017, they worked as a Systems Analyst for Legal Aid Alberta, where they redeveloped the lawyer matching algorithm. Currently, they are working as a Senior Developer for SAM | The Real-Time Knowledge Engine, where they are working on a pipeline to detect events in real time and has improved the performance of the pipeline at scale.

James McNeice attended the University of Alberta from 2007 to 2012, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computing Science. In 2019, they obtained two Microsoft certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert and Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate. In 2020, they obtained a Stanford Online Certificate for Machine Learning from Coursera, and in 2022 they obtained an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
