Tyrone Nero

Tyrone Nero is an experienced social worker and community coordinator with a diverse background in mental health and substance abuse services. Currently serving at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) since January 2023, Tyrone also holds the position of community coordinator for the United States Government from February 2019. As a co-founder of Black Diaries Inc. since August 2014, Tyrone plays a key role in developing management strategies and strategic goals for the nonprofit organization. Previous roles include managing coordinator at Harlem United Community AIDS Center, coordinating manager at Harlem United, and deputy director for Services for the Underserved. Tyrone's military background includes serving in the US Army and the US Air Force, focusing on financial readiness and mental health support. Tyrone holds a Master's degree in Social Work from Columbia University and possesses several other advanced degrees in public administration and psychology.
