Hillary Carlson

Hillary Carlson, APR, is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in public relations and external communications. Currently serving as Manager of External Communications at Sammons Financial Group Companies since September 2020, Hillary has previously held various roles at Principal Financial Group from August 2013 to September 2020, including Senior Public Relations Strategist and Media Relations Specialist. Early career experience includes positions at Aviva USA as a Channel Marketing Specialist and a Corporate Affairs Intern. Hillary holds a Master of Arts in Communication & Leadership from Drake University, completed in 2020, and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications with a focus on public relations, marketing, and promotions from the same institution, earned in 2011.
