Daniel Shem

Manager, Field Sales Engineering at Samsara

Daniel Shem has a diverse work experience spanning across various roles and companies. Daniel started their career as a Field Application Engineer Intern (Sales Engineer Intern) at Synaptics in 2003. In 2004, they worked as a Software Quality Assurance Intern at the same company.

From 2006 to 2007, Shem was a Network System Engineer I at Digital Foundation, where they initially provided tier 1 support and eventually became a specialist in wireless technology and IT security concepts.

In 2007, they interned as a Network Engineer at Covad Communications, where they gained experience in security-related proof-of-concept projects and worked with Linux and Solaris servers. Daniel also worked as a System Administrator at Abraxas Energy Consulting during the same year.

Shem joined TechXpress in 2008 as a Network Engineer II, where they provided comprehensive IT solutions support to over 100 local and remote sites. Daniel improved account relationships by consulting key decision-makers during visits.

From 2009 to 2011, Shem worked as an NPI Program Manager - OEM Sales at Brocade, where they represented OEM Sales in new product core teams and drove new product adoption across all OEMs.

At TiVo, Shem held two roles: Operations Manager from 2014 to 2014, and Senior Technical Account Manager / Partner Support Program Manager from 2011 to 2014.

From 2014 to 2016, Shem worked as a Senior Field Sales Engineer (FSE II) at SYNNEX. Daniel then became a Senior Field Sales Engineer (FSE III), SSA Division Technical Lead in 2016.

Currently, Shem is working at Samsara as a Field Sales Engineer, and since April 2020, they hold the position of Manager, Field Sales Engineering.

Daniel Shem obtained a Bachelor of Art degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. In addition to their degree, they also hold several certifications including ITIL Foundation obtained in March 2013, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA 640-802) obtained in September 2008, Security+ obtained from CompTIA in January 2008, and Microsoft Certified Professional (70-270) obtained from Microsoft in March 2007.
