Mathew Calmer

Mathew Calmer is an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in firmware development and management. Currently serving as a Firmware Engineer and Senior Engineering Manager at Samsara since December 2019, Mathew previously co-founded WOBOCO.com and designed a wireless phone charger. At Willow, Mathew played a key role in the company's growth, starting as the first hardware/software team member and advancing to R&D Director of Software and Firmware. Additional experience includes founding The Big Incredible, mentoring at Hack Reactor, and leading software engineering programs at Synapse Product Development. Mathew's technical expertise also encompasses embedded systems engineering at Exbiblio.com and a foundational role early in the career at SaneWave and Sunfire. Mathew holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Washington.
