Ryan Aalund

Ryan Aalund has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Ryan currently works at Samsara as the Director of Hardware Reliability and Quality, starting in November 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Latch as the Sr. Director of Hardware Engineering and Reliability from March 2022 to December 2022, and as the Director of Hardware Reliability Engineering from August 2020 to March 2022.

Before joining Latch, Ryan was employed by Butterfly Network, Inc. as the Director of Product Integrity from January 2019 to September 2020, and as a Principal Engineer from July 2018 to July 2019. Ryan also worked at Amazon as a Lead Reliability Engineer for Prime Air from July 2016 to July 2018, and at Amazon Web Services as a Senior Hardware Engineer from July 2012 to July 2016.

Their earlier experiences include working at Omron Microscan as a Manufacturing Test Engineer from April 2010 to July 2012, at Benchmark Electronics as a Project Engineer in 2009, at SEO Precision as an Electrical Engineer from January 2007 to December 2009, at Universal Avionics Systems Corporation as a Hardware Engineer from 2005 to 2007, and at Kyocera International, Inc. - Semiconductor Components Group as an Electrical Engineer from May 2004 to September 2005. Ryan Aalund has completed a Master of Science (MS) in Reliability Engineering from the University of Maryland. Additionally, they have obtained a Master of Science (MS) in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electronics Engineering Technology, both from DeVry University. Currently, Ryan Aalund is pursuing a Doctor of Engineering (DEng) in Systems Engineering at Colorado State University, which they are expected to complete in 2023.
