Dorothy Simon is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in leadership, project coordination, and business management within First Nation communities. As the Founder and Principal of Buffalo Child since May 2019, Dorothy focuses on assisting First Nations in their advancement. In addition to leading projects for the Samson Cree Nation since 2012, including significant amendments to the Election Law, Dorothy serves on various boards, including as Vice-President for Cold Lake-Samson GP Ltd. and holds positions with AFOA-Alberta and Samson Management (2009) Ltd. Notable past roles include Commercial Manager at Neyaskweyahk Group of Companies Inc. and General Manager for Samson Management Ltd., where Dorothy transformed the organization into a leader in Aboriginal business. Educational achievements include a Certified Aboriginal Professional Administrator designation and training in leadership, management, and financial management relevant to First Nation governance.
