Carlos Salazar has extensive experience in educational technology and leadership roles, currently serving as the Director of the Security Operations Center at the San Diego County Office of Education since February 2024. Prior to this position, Carlos held various roles at the King-Chavez Neighborhood of Schools from January 2010 to February 2024, including Director of Technology and Innovation, Information Technology Manager, Technology Coordinator, and Educational Technology Specialist. Carlos’s focus on transformative learning through technology involved developing curriculum, professional development, and co-teaching to support 21st century learning, along with implementing blended and project-based strategies in line with Common Core standards. Carlos also served as an Instructional Math Specialist and a Women's Varsity Soccer Coach. Educated at the University of San Diego with a Master of Science in Engineering in Cyber Security and Point Loma Nazarene University with a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership, Carlos possesses a solid foundation in both technology and organizational skills.
