Tammy Carpowich has had extensive experience in leadership roles in various media and education organizations. Tammy is currently the Senior Director of Media & Creative Services at the San Diego County Office of Education since 2019. Prior to this, they worked at KPBS for almost two decades, holding roles such as Senior Director of Technology & Innovation, Director of Interactive Strategy, and Director of Communications. At KPBS, they led teams, developed cross-platform content initiatives, managed digital content distribution, and implemented digital sponsorship programs. Tammy also played a key role in strategic planning and budgeting. Additionally, Tammy worked as an Instructor at UCSD Extension, where they developed curriculum for a writing class and provided instruction and mentorship to diverse students.
Tammy Carpowich holds a BA degree in Journalism from San Diego State University.
