Wyn Furman

Wyn Furman has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. They currently hold the position of Director of Digital Communications & Philanthropy at the San Diego Humane Society since June 2021. Before that, they worked as a Digital Communications Manager from July 2020 to June 2021 and as an Online Giving Manager from December 2016 to June 2020 in the same organization.

Prior to joining the San Diego Humane Society, Wyn worked at The San Diego Foundation where they served as the Manager of Community Scholarships from March 2015 to December 2016.

Before that, they held various roles at The San Diego Foundation, including Manager of Community Research from December 2011 to December 2014 and Coordinator of Regional Vision from April 2010 to December 2011. In the latter role, their responsibilities included providing administrative and logistical support to the Vice President and coordinating various community planning workshops and meetings.

Additionally, Wyn has experience working with non-profit organizations. They were a 2014 YPC Academy Fellow at the San Diego LGBT Community Center, where they were involved in developing and empowering young LGBT professionals and their allies. They also served as a 2013 SDLA Institute Fellow at the San Diego Leadership Alliance, which focused on personal leadership development and fundraising.

Furthermore, Wyn has had experience in the public and private sectors. They worked as a Junior Consultant at OnePoint Public and Private Solutions, conducting research and analysis on initiatives for older adults. They also served as an Administrative Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania, managing confidential correspondence and conducting research.

Earlier in their career, Wyn worked as an Access Counselor at the Women's Medical Fund and as a File Clerk at Kimmel & Silverman, P.C.

Wyn Furman completed their high school education at Springside School, although the specific start and end dates are unknown. Following this, they attended the University of Pennsylvania from 2005 to 2009, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and French Studies. In terms of additional certifications, Wyn obtained the Blackbaud Certified in Luminate Online at the Fundamentals Level from Blackbaud in August 2017. Additionally, they obtained a Certificate in Fundraising Management from Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy in 2014.
