Katie McComas

Katie McComas currently serves as the Assistant Director of PaleoServices and Senior Paleontologist at the San Diego Natural History Museum, where responsibilities include paleontological report writing and GIS specialization. Previous roles include Paleontology Lab Intern at Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument and Digitization Intern at The Field Museum, contributing to significant digitization projects and public outreach initiatives. In earlier positions at the University of Colorado Museum of Natural History, Katie gained extensive experience in zoology and paleontology collections, including specimen cataloging, conservation, and curation of vertebrate fossils. Additional internships at Harvard Museum of Comparative Zoology provided skills in conserving and reorganizing collections. Katie holds a Master of Science in Museum and Field Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Bachelor of Science in Geology-Biology from Brown University.
