Curator, Department Of Birds And Mammals at San Diego Natural History Museum

Philip Unitt is a seasoned ornithologist with extensive experience in editorial roles and curatorial responsibilities. Currently, Philip serves as the Curator of the Department of Birds and Mammals at the San Diego Natural History Museum. Since 1986, Philip has been the Editor of Western Birds, a quarterly journal representing the Western Field Ornithologists and focusing on ornithology in western North America. Additionally, from 2008 to 2013, Philip was the Managing Editor of The Condor, one of the leading professional journals in ornithology. Philip holds a degree from San Diego State University, where studies took place from 1973 to 1978.
