Kenia Zamarripa has a diverse work experience that spans several industries. Kenia started their career at Oceanic Enterprises in 2010, where they worked as an Administrative Assistant for three years. In 2013, they joined LoPreste-Dunn Sportfishing as an Assistant Manager before moving on to the Sportfishing Association of California later that year. At the Sportfishing Association of California, Kenia held the position of Director of Marketing and International Affairs. In this role, they managed various projects and events in Mexico and coordinated strategies in response to changes in international policy. In 2017, Kenia joined the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce as the Director of International Business Affairs, and later became the Executive Director in 2021.
Kenia Zamarripa's education history begins with their completion of a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Marketing Administration from CETYS Universidad in the years 2005 to 2009. Kenia then pursued further education at UNID Universidad Interamericana para el Desarrollo, where they received a Certificate in Community Development Through the Empowerment of Social Leaders from 2011 to 2012.
In 2012, Kenia enrolled at the University of Liverpool and obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Global Marketing from 2012 to 2014. Building on their academic achievements, they earned a Post Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management from the same institution during the period of 2017 to 2018.
Continuing their commitment to professional development, Kenia participated in the LEAD San Diego program and became an IMPACT Graduate in 2019. Furthermore, they participated in the Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE) Leadership Institute, where they gained valuable leadership skills until 2021.
Kenia's educational journey showcases their dedication to acquiring knowledge and developing herself as a leader in different fields such as marketing, community development, human resources management, and political equality.

The San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1870 by Alonzo Horton with the mission to guide in the development of San Diego. At the time, the Chamber focused its efforts on several main priorities: bringing railroads into San Diego; encouraging settlement in the area; bringing fresh drinking water to residents; and supporting commercein the harbor. The Chamber also played a critical role in bringing military bases into the region prior to World War I. It was these efforts that helped the military become a driving force for San Diego’s local economy.Throughout San Diego’s history, the Chamber has made significant contributions to the San Diego we know and love. In 1909, Balboa Park stood as a mere 1,400 acres of sagebrush until the Chamber raised funds to make it one of San Diego’s largest tourist destination and cultural center points. Likewise, in 1962, the Chamber’s Harbor Committee helped pass legislation that would ultimately help complete the construction of the Coronado Bay Bridge in 1969.Today, the Chamber is the largest nonprofit advocate for the San Diego regional business community.
