Orletta Nguyen

Orletta Nguyen is an experienced education professional currently serving as the Senior Director of Special Education for San Dieguito Union High School District since October 2024. Nguyen has held instructional and consultative roles at California State University, Dominguez Hills since 2012 and previously worked as the Director of Special Education for Escondido Union High School District from January 2023 to October 2024. Prior experience includes significant positions within San Diego Unified School District, including as a Program Specialist and School Psychologist from May 2005 to January 2023. Nguyen has also lectured at various institutions such as UCSD, University of San Diego, and San Diego State University. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Teaching & Learning from UC San Diego, a Master's Degree in Education from California State University, Long Beach, and a Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature from UCLA.
