Senior Director, HIV & Harm Reduction Policy at San Francisco AIDS Foundation

Laura Thomas is a seasoned professional in public health policy, currently serving as the Senior Director of HIV & Harm Reduction Policy at the San Francisco AIDS Foundation since July 2019. Prior to this role, Laura held several key positions including Director of Harm Reduction Policy at the Drug Policy Alliance from May 2008 to June 2019 and Deputy State Director in San Francisco. Earlier experience includes serving as Director of Contracts and Planning at Tenderloin Health, as well as Director of Grants and Public Policy at Continuum HIV Day Services. Laura's foundational work in public health began at the San Francisco Department of Public Health as a Health Planner for HIV Health Services. Laura holds a Master of Public Policy (MPP) and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English from Wesleyan University.
