Senior Clean Transportation Specialist at San Francisco Environment Department

Nicole Appenzeller is a seasoned professional in clean transportation and energy initiatives, currently serving as the Senior Clean Transportation Specialist at the San Francisco Environment Department since March 2021. In this role, Nicole acts as the City’s EV Ombudsperson, working to overcome barriers to public fast charger installations and identifying potential sites for additional chargers. Previously, Nicole held various positions at the Center for Sustainable Energy, managing the California Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Project and developing electric vehicle rebate programs. As Clean Cities Co-Director for the San Francisco Clean Cities Coalition, Nicole collaborates with stakeholders to promote alternative fuels and inclusive mobility solutions. Nicole earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Conservation and Resource Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
