In the City & County of San Francisco Planning Department, Tre served as the Chair of the Economic Opportunity and Equity Committee of the LGBTQ+ Cultural Heritage Strategy. Tre Russell collaborated with government and nonprofit partners to develop opportunities for underserved LGBTQ+ community members.

Prior to their involvement in the public sector, Tre owned and operated their own holistic health and fitness company called Bodyworks by Tre. Tre Russell created a unique client fitness curriculum, developed a self-sustaining business, and implemented marketing strategies.

Tre has also held leadership positions in nonprofit organizations, including serving as the President of the Board of Directors for the San Francisco Spikes Soccer Club. In this role, they managed the board, implemented financial policies, and built community partnerships.

Earlier in their career, Tre gained experience in management and teaching roles. Tre Russell served as the General Manager for Orthopedic Physical Therapy and Wellness Inc., overseeing operations at multiple clinic locations. Tre Russell also worked as a Professor, teaching English at Accent Your English Academy and the China University of Mining and Technology.
