Carol Kuester is an urban planner and serves as Director at the Metropolitan Transportation Commission delivering mobility programs in the Bay Area. Her team manages the FasTrak® toll payment system and Clipper®, the iconic card for seamlessly accessing the region’s two dozen transit operators and bike-share program. These programs put Commission policies into action and keep millions of Bay Area travelers moving. A native of Sonoma County, Carol earned an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science at UC Davis and a Master’s in Urban Transportation Planning from UCLA. She also studied at the New School for Social Research in New York, spent a year at the University of Nairobi, Kenya, and worked in northern Germany for several years.
